I really love the third layout, with the violet background and black dancing outline that leads your eye to the logo, I think this idea works very well you should definitely work with this one. Great job!
I think the third one is really good. The way you use the logo as a shape and the curved shape on the athlete make a connection of the whole poster. I also like the forth one, the way you put the logo and the words make the negative space seem well~
I think that the strongest design is the first, but I also like the diver, specifically the one pointing downward. The gradient background is effective.
Great use of the overall organic form of the letters. I would suggest that you remove the gradient because it's extremely distracting and doesn't necessarily fit the rest of the design. It's probably not the most successful background treatment.
I like your first and second one but I agree with Jared with the gradient. I think you should use a solid color and one that is not in your icon. Your logo gets lost when you use the blue and purple. But overall, I like the way the athletes come off of the waves..
I think the first and second concepts make your imagery stand out the most, but the gradient feels conflicting, maybe make the background solid and the type color contrast more with the background. Also it might be interesting if you continue the colored streaks of your logo throughout the image of the athlete somehow.
Like the abstract shape you created in poster 5, but it looks kind of pixelated and the lines are not really smooth. I believe it will look really good after you fix them.
i like the purple designs the most, but it feels like a figure skater rather than a summer athlete. the diver concept is very goo, but i would look at other diver photos just in case to conform to your design better.
All your concepts are great. The incorporation of your logo is working really well, and you have a very organic flowing feel throughout all of them. Have you tried using a flat color for the background, rather than a gradation? Maybe just white or a tint of one of the colors you've already chosen. Great job so far!
I like the feel of all your comps. Good color palette. The way you position your graphic at the end of the athletes interacts well. I'm favoring the abstract and silhouette athlete figure over the photo of athletes. The only advice I have would be changing "2020 & olympics" to white to help the read of it. Also, scaling down the entire logo. But Overall great comps.
I think you're too attach to using the whole logo within your composition. I think it might be a good idea to maybe crop out portions of your logo and use it as a elements within the composition.
With that you will have more freedom to explore with several other illsutration or photograph that doesn't necessary shows the movement of a certain sport.
I like the concept with posters 5 and 6, they seem to go together better with your logo. I also agree with Tiffanie however, maybe mixing it up and bit and don't be afraid to crop things and make them larger. The illustrated posters go better with your concept because you have such an elegant logo so the illustrations flow into that as well.
The concept of these are really nice. The way your logo and imagery combine create a great sense of movement. Maybe trying to combine them together withvone another a little better would be nice too. Like if your athlete where un-raveling from your logo? Nice though.
This style works really well. You are on to something! I really like the first 4 posters, and I can't decide between the shape of the athlete or the photo. It is really looking good!
I think the 3rd layout works the best. That stylized figure really complements your logo shape. I also love that it does not portray a specific sport. It gives the general feeling of movement and happiness without being sport specific. Great job!
i still have feel the same as i did when we spoke in class with these ideas.
1. your athlete must feel like there is a motion coming from the shape. 2. use the actual athlete photo and not the silhouette. 3. does your ribbon need to be the EXACT same ribbon as your logo. it makes your logo less unique and it makes all the layout really boring. your ribbon can take on multiple forms and swooshes. it can loop in a multitude of ways instead of just repeating the same ribbon on everything.
I wish I could say that I have known since I was a little girl that I wanted to be a graphic designer but it has been a work in progress. After many years of being a successful hair designer I decided I needed a new challenge. I began to persue interior design but there was something missing. I loved using the computer but wanted to be more creative with it. This is when I looked into graphic design and finally felt like I found the right fit. I fell in love with graphic design and feel like I can't learn everything fast enough. But I also want to savor everything I learn so I have taken it slow and will finally be graduating next fall. I am excited to venture into my new career and will be proud to call myself a graphic designer!

ReplyDeletethe second and third are more successful. The illustrated people fit better with your logo. I wouldnt change the orientation of your logo. Good work

I really enjoy the shadowed figure, maybe a variety of designs can be done to suit movement.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the shadowed figure the best, maybe add more athletes, or close in poses?
